Travel Between Málaga Airport and Marbella

Malaga Airport Transfers

Booking a private transfer costs similar to taking a taxi and the benefits can far outweigh any extra cost. It is particularly cost efficient for larger groups. You can book and pay for your private transfer in advance. Just provide your flight details at the time of booking and the company will track your flight ensuring that a driver is waiting for you in the arrivals hall. No waiting for buses or queuing in a taxi rank! Baby seats can be ordered at the time of booking.

CAR

Malaga International Airport is just 45 Km. from Marbella. The road to Marbella from the Airport is called N-340, towards Cadiz. As you approach Fuengirola, you can either continue on the N-340, or choose the 'Costa del Sol' toll motorway. The motorway is faster and less busy, but costs 6.30 euros high season but less in low season.

This is a good quality coach and not just a local bus and costs from only 8.00 Euros. It takes approx 45 minutes non stop. Passengers should place their larger luggage items in the compartment under the bus.

At Málaga airport pay at kiosk. At Marbella bus station buy a ticket from the Portillo sales office. Important: Try to buy your ticket for Marbella to Malaga Airport before the day of departure - sometimes the bus is full. If bus is full, you will then have to catch the bus to Torremolinos and get a taxi from there.

TRAIN SERVICE

Marbella train station does not exist but there are future plans to bring the train to Marbella. However, there is a train service from Málaga Airport to Fuengirola.
The train station is outside the International Terminal. Follow the signs over the footbridge to the train station. You can go by train from the Airport to Fuengirola, a town halfway to Marbella, and then take a bus or taxi from there to Marbella.

There are 68 train services daily, leaving every 30 minutes. The first one is at 6:00 am. and the last at 10:30 pm. The ticket costs around 1,50 Euros from Monday to Friday, and 1,60 Euros weekends and bank holidays.
